Chinese Five Spice Blend
2 tablespoons anise seeds, crushed 2 tablespoons freshly ground pepper 2 tablespoons fennel seeds, crushed 2 tablespoons ground cloves 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon 1 1/2 tablespoons ground ginger 1/2 tablespoons ground allspice Combine all ingredients; store in an airtight container. Popular to rub or marinate pork, tofu, or fish. Yield: 3/4 cup.
