Colorful carrots!
Posted by: TammyMy middle son, Ben, has a thing for carrots. When we were seed shopping he just kept picking out packets. His favorites were the Purple Haze, a truly purple carrot. The yellow jumbos were also kind of cool he thought. So in the end, he settled on three types. Today we harvested from all three crops and they were so pretty!
One of my goals for my homestead this year was to increase our fruit production. The raspberries have stepped up to the plate. We have an everbearing variety that produces a small spring crop and a more substantial fall crop. They’re doing so well that I eliminated the walkway between the two raspberry beds and rebuilt the stone walls to enclose that space and basically increased my raspberry bed by another third. The berries are so bright and cheery each morning when I look out on the garden! Here is a look peek at our pretty raspberries.
